We're worried that our Ancona may be a rooster... she's the one nearest the nesting box furthest left in this picture. Multiple times we have heard her crowing excessively in the morning hours and she's extremely assertive (slightly aggressive) with our corgis. Whenever our female corgi goes outside she (or he) follows her around looking at her butt looking like she wants to peck it. She likes to sleep up on the highest shelf of the coop (a converted old shed) and currently is smaller and slimmer than our big chunky girls. I may be able to get a closer up picture eventually... my boyfriend and I are considering taking her down to a little homestead store called Buckley's to get her checked out by the owners (chicken lovers who live out east.) It's illegal in our city to have a rooster within the city limits and we live in a highly populated residential area where the noise would definitely tick everyone off. Especially our neighbor the Dragon Lady. But anyways.... HHHEEELLLPPP!
