Its a little nerve wracking the babies are alone in their coop. They are 6 weeks on Monday. They have plenty of room for now and hubby will have the run done by this week. It’s hard putting them out on their own but they were getting wat too big for the brooder. I will worry , I gave them a small light since we have a storm coming tonight but feel they are pretty secure.

The light is a good idea for the first night, but it would be best not to let them get dependent on it. Dark at night is good for chickens.

You might wish to reserve the light for when you begin training them to go into the coop at night once they begin using their brand new run. It helps the chicks feel secure in going inside since the coop will look very different to them from the run.

Don't worry about chicks and loud noise such as thunder and hail. They will be temporarily startled, but will quickly adjust to it. I was running the vacuum today in the coop and my eight-week olds were completely unfazed by the noise.

Its great they all have each other comfort. Everytime I put mine out for the first time over night I feel they might think I abandoned them
I can't wait to go out in the morning to let them know I'm still here (I know I'm a.kook)

I.never used a light outsdie as while they were inside and off the heatlamp they would get used to the dark at night

Good luck
