I just wanted to say I can't believe how quickly chicks grow! We got ours a day old, 4 SLW on April 5th and 4 Barred Rocks on April 11th. I can't believe how fast they are growing! And now they are at the age where I just think they are little terds! They are just going wild and trying to fly out of their brooder! Good thing we have a wire top on the brooder! Silly little chicks!

Yes, They do grow super fast...but watching the smiles and laughter from my four young children (ages 3, 6, 9 and 11) makes it all worth! We are having a blast watching them gro and their little personalities emerge! So much fun!!

We've been having a great time with ours, too. We have 5 week olds now. Everybody says how fast they grow, but I really didn't get it until we got them!

My four kids just adore them!

Another mother of 4....I am not the only one! People say to me so often "Wow, you have your hands full!" I love every (well almost, LOL) minute of it!!! I have 2 and 2....my girls are 9 and 11 and my boys are 6 and 3. Enjoy your kiddos and your chicks!!!

Ha! I have 5 week old chicks too, and they are just now getting to where if I sit on a chair in the run they come over to me and hop into my lap! I have 5 boys from 4-10yo and they are LOVING this. We throw them scraps and watch them play chickie football.

Oh goodness! my chicks are still at the cute sleep and peep stage (just 4 days old). What age do they usually start trying to fly out of the brooder. I don't have a top on mine yet and I am wondering when I need to put one one on.

I am a mom of 4 also, only mine are 24, 23 (in heaven), 21 and 9. So I only have the 9yro at home now. This was his science experiment (we homeschool) and he has been wanting to do this for a few years now, so have I. It has been a great experiment.

I get the same comment from people- especially when I have all 4 with me running errands. It looks like I have a whole flock following along:P I have 3 boys and 1 girl- they're 6,5,4,& 3.

I have 4 kids - 3 teens still home - on the Autism spectrum...when we made the move from CA to here, then after 9mths in a vacation rental bringing NO furniture with us...I asked them, do you want beds, or do you want chickens...they all said chickens

So I now have 3 homeschooled teens..waiting soo patiently for our 25 chicks to arrive. I also texted my SIL and said..this is when they will be here, if the girls want to come see them as chicks, you better come for dinner that week! When I showed my 13 year old a picture of a chicken and asked him how old he thought the chicken was...he said "years"..and the chicken was 8 weeks old! We are so excited!
