I started playing the bagpipes about 1 1/2 years ago so I will be able to provide musical entertainment to the girls as they get older!!!

I gotta love ya! I love bagpipers!

I dont know how hard it is to play one but hopefully my DD can play it. Hubby sure can not play it and I only did play a clarinet in grade school. We both dont have good set of lungs.

My DD is five years old now and not sure when they can start playing. she has NO experience in instrumental playing but got a good ear to hear!

Hey Lunker! I'm in Wellfleet. I've seen the Highland Light Scottish Pipe Band many times. Have you ever played with them?

Hey Buff, I am in Sandwich and yes, I have played at events that they are at but not with them. They are a great bunch, I always enjoy watching them perform. We will be playing at the Highland Festival at Heritage Museum and Gardens in Sandwich (in August).

EweSheep - never too young to start! Actually with pipes, the younger the better. My daughter is 7 and she has tinkered with the practice chanter. They have such a capability for learning at this young age, it amazes me. If she shows an interest, I say go for it. The practice chanter and learning materials shouldn't break the bank, HOWEVER, if she decides to take up piping, the start up costs can be quite high. Entry level pipes with the fixins' can run you over $1000.

Nice to talk to both of you!
