I am soo glad you are happy with them, plan on showing them??
My kids hope she doesn't show them. In any show she would go to these Black Orps would compete with our Buffs and Blues. Including our county fair. Julie's flock will be hard to beat in any show now. Her Barred Rocks have matured and she has learned how to condition. for a show. Her Barred Plymouth Rock won at our largest Arkansas spring show. Won the show. Am afraid to see what she can do with Orps. But will be exciting to find out.
Learned the other day Julie and her youngest are riding with us to Crossroads. So you may get to see these Black Orps in person.
Plus I have first dibs if she sells the blacks. Called them before they hatched.
A local lumber mill (the kind that sells only to wholesale lumber distributors) donated an entire stack/bundle of 2x5x10 lumber to our 4H club. 220 boards total. We will rip it into 2x2.5x10 and start building coop frames this week. Julie gets one of the first coops. The coops will be 5'w x 5'H x 10'L and should easily house a trio of large fowl or a quad of Bantams. We will assembly line the coops. We will build at least 3 or 4 at one time. Makes it easier. Photos of similiar coops we have built is on my BYC page. One of them is Julie's.
Here is my daughter's Buff Orpington Bantam (or BOBs) coop:

And here is our 4H Club's county fair booth that Julie helped design. When I got there they were done.

No offense Jim but I well be truly honored if she wins!!!
I think they are looking really great and are not even mature yet.
I have several blacks myself that I am growing out in hopes that a few make the grade to show later this fall or early next spring. I plan to pick only the best after a few shows to put back together for the next breeding group for even better offspring for next year.
