The BANTAM ORPINGTON Thread

Hi everyone I am new on this thread and was wondering if anybody could give me their opinions on my chicks please, I was given 10 eggs and hatched out 9 (the tenth wasn't fertilised) 5 small bantams (poss serama x) and 4 bigger eggs which I believe maybe bantam orps, hatched them under a broody hen. below are pictures of my 4 bigger chicks, any ideas on sex would be appreciated.
Chick 1 - Coco as a chick

Coco at 4 weeks (pullet?) was hatched 1st but is smaller than the others and doesn't have as much tail growth

Chick 2 Butterscotch/Winston as a chick

and now at 4 wks largest of the chicks with the most feather development really hoping for a pullet

Chick 3 Walter next biggest but not as wide or round as chick 2

at 4wks would appear to have more rooish behaviour (although I have never raised from chicks or had roos)

Chick 4 Mumbo

at 4 wks loner of the group (pullet)

all chicks have feathered legs although chick 1 isn't as feathered as the rest.
Thanks in advance for any insights

Eek! My bantam orpington has JUST hatched! I only managed to get one egg so thrilled it has hatched. Now I just need to keep fingers crossed for a hen! Its a from both blue parents so cant wait to see what colour it'll be once it fluffs out!

Congrats! I also only had one bantam Orpington hatch. She never seems to mind being the only one among all the full-sized hens & is always in the middle of everything.

Thanks! I only keep bantams so hopefully she'll be right at home! She's dark so thinking she'll be black rather than blue?! The the chick in the middle (I'm pretty sure thats my orp anyway!!! Haha!)

My newest babies! A trio of bantam English Orpingtons, 2 Blacks, and an adorable little Blue. Hatched last Friday from eggs we received from Blue Rein Poultry. So excited to watch these little ones grow up!

I see you are raising BBS orp bantams now. Very good to know. Do you know if you will be selling any? I'm looking specifically for some splash birds but I would also take blues or what ever I can get. I have two orpington bantams. Both very dark blue. One of my andalusian bantams went broody on me so I gave her some orpington eggs. One has hatched so far. I hope more make it out.
