My Bantams actually have even a more mellow temperament than my LF orps, I prefer them to my LF.

They are on the bigger side of bantams being fluffy little basketballs, they are probably the size of bantam cochins. As for weight, I really haven't weighed one to know where they are coming in at.

I do love them though.

Thank you - they are such intersting little birds - huh - will subscribe to learn more! Are they difficult to find a good breeder of?

Sarah (black) and her sister were both from a breeder in NC I believe and they were from a breeder in OK whose flock were directly from Superior Farms. Superior Farms bought alot of Don Chandler's bantam flock.

She has been a very proven mother for two different batches of chicks. Last year it was the Spitzhauben chicks and this summer was the Welsummer chicks. A very doting mother!

For some reason, right now extremely difficult to find. That I know of there are only a handful of people "recognized thru an organization" that even raise bantam orps.

Very pretty girl! None of mine have ever gone broody to raise babies, you are lucky. I'm in NC, someone else here has them???

Very difficult to find a very good breeder that shows quality behind their birds. Don Chandler would be one of them. Superior Farms used to have some before they liquidated their flocks last year.

I was lucky...her sister was not a dominant broody but she "auntie" the babies alongside with her. Unfortunately the blue sister met her untimely death earlier this year, looks like a weasel or sewer rat. Those two were the BEST broodies I've had. Sarah has been broody lately and I refused to let her set on some eggs or chicks until May or June of next year.

I think she is three years old.

HenThymes - pming you Don's email addy and Dick Hosrtmans. Don lives in TN I think. Dick lives in PA and I see him at a few shows each year.

They also go after to good ones too. Mine just like to lay eggs and walk away so the bator does the job instead.
