We have two Bantam Blue Orpington breeding pens set up, but they are on strike.

We placed the Best of Breed (Junior) at Crossroads with a Splash male and the Black male with a Dick Hortsman's Blue and Splash hens. The Blacks are from Majestic Lane. Not sure of the orgin of the Splash. He came from the Superior Farms sell out.

We also have two LF Blue orpington breeding pens set up. Pen #1 has a Blue hen and a Cecil Moore Black male. Pen #2 has a Blue male and a Cecil Moore Black hen. The Blues have several lines in them.

I'd like to get ahold of a few of the Bantam Blue eggs if possible.

This summer we swapped eggs with several on BYC. We had two chicks hatched out that were colored Buff and Black. It looks like either a project bird or a cross. We were hatching a lot of chicks in both Orpington Bantams and large fowl and had various ages together in a grow out pen. At first we thought these were large fowl Orpingtons, since we had a black hen jump a fence. But this week this cockerel starting crowing. He is defintely an Orpington Bantam. Did anyone we received eggs from have this as a project? We know these were not our eggs as we did not have any Black Orpington Bantams at that time. We sold the pullet, but may be able to get her back. That is if they are a project bird we want to work with.

What does everyone think about this Project Orpington Bantam cockerel?

We did not hatch any of those. We tested for fertility and then disposed of the eggs before they hatched. These are also much younger than those would be. These definetly came from swap eggs.
