I am gonna get 2 RIR and 2 plymouth rocks please just the basics about caring for chicks

watch the temperature where you are keeping them. I think they are supposed to be 95 degrees the first week and lower it 5 degrees each weak.

Check out this thread for good information:

Good luck!

Very basic:

1. They like a warm brooder (term for anything you keep a chick in

)
I keep mine around 100 - 105 with an area where they can move to a
cooler spot if they get too warm. You can decrease the temp by 5
degrees each week until they are completely feathered out...about 6
weeks old...but they will cry for the warm light long after that!!
2. Fresh water - plenty of it and a clean waterer.
3. Free choice chick starter (that's the name of chick feed) Personally I
believe in giving medicated starter to help prevent a protozoa that can
cause diarrhea call coccidia
4. Predators...LOTs of wild animals will kill chickens. Check out the section
on coops or pens and the section on predators to open your eyes. It
did mine!!
