Lola sighed from boredom. She decided to creep closer to try and hear.

Feline giggled up at her father. Her bouncy eyes danced with the glee that only a foal could possess.

"Whenever you want." He put his muscular arm around her shoulders lovingly.

"That feels better." She bit her lip. "And... I think it will be soon. I don't know when, but the foal is going to be born in a few hours."

"I'll give you 3,000 for your mare." This was Connor's voice.

"No. She's not for sale, and even if money meant something to me, I wouldn't give her away for that." This was obviously Jessup speaking.

"Okay, then 13,000."

"No. She's not for sale. She's not a piece of furniture to just throw away when I don't want her anymore."

The other stallion snorted. "Well, okay then, little brother. If you want to be submissive to your mare, be my guest." Connor's hoofsteps cuold be heard as he walked away.

Jessup growled under his breath. "There's a difference between being submissive to someone and treating someone like a living thing," he muttered to himself. "Dad made us submissive when he beat us, Connor. This isn't submission."

And besides, at least they could fight it, if these Dylees attacked.

No one was in the hall at all until they reached near the marketplace, then is was busy. Yarsha heard her name being called again.

Derek tested the pain of his wound and it was well enough for him to fly up if he touched her.

Derek hopped up and grabbed the doc by the scruff pulling him father away. "And not for you to touch." He then glared at Nyra. "What are you doing?"

She looked at him. "How am I wrong?" She was about to get nervous which is something she rarely felt. Unless it was Barabus angry with her.
"Yikes!" Hasis hollered from the bitter cold. "Oh, you're going down." He chucked it at her shoulder, and dove behind a sleeping tree.

Skita flushed and looked away. She wasn't sure if this was okay. She felt fear now, Barabus could abandon her, but if she chose another he might kill her, because she still was technically his. And what if Zandor was just playing her. She'd had enough of that but.... what if he gave her what she wanted? "Are you just admiring my looks or are you implying that you want something of me?" She spoke very quietly.
"You have a good arm!" Hasis hollered back. He poked his head as he listened to her steps, sploshing in the snow. "Hi." He grinned, watching her as shr noticed him visible to her.
