"He died a month before we were supposed to be married. The Drex destroyed his ship."
He slowly walked back up to her. He carefully took her hand and placed the ring back in her palm, then closed it for her. "No one should have to loose someone they love."

Her face hardened. "He knew that he was being followed. He asked for assistance. There was more than enough time for Terrellian ships to come to his aid. But none came. When they did get there it was too late."

He looked at her. "I am sorry to hear that it happened that way for him Callabine." He decided to let her have her vent. He knew that anything could happen in space, and that those who were grieving perspectives could be misunderstanding or unrealistic.

Quote: "I know what you're thinking," Callabine said. "'She is being unrealistic, she is blowing this out of proportion.' I was on the radio with him during that flight. It was supposed to be a routine border check. I listened as he called for help, I listened as he tried to fend off the Drex alone when no help came, and I listened as he died."

"You don't let your self cry do you?" His voice was calm and soothing; and he had been holding her hand the whole time. She didn't seem to realize it, so he gently let it down.

"I used to. But I learned that crying doesn't solve any problems. It just shows people that you are weak, and some people are eager to take advantage of weaknesses." She did not mention that she cried herself to sleep almost every night.

Illykran looked at her right in the eyes compassionately. "We cry because we grieve, we have to grieve or we loose who we are. I know the toughest most fierce Cetaurian that ever lived in the history of our people, and yes I have seen him cry. It's who we allow ourselves to become after wards that matter. Find a way to heal."
