Well I am a little late. The weather here has been awful, and between doing chores here at home, and work ( I work in lawn and garden at
walmart) I have been cold and exhausted most of the week. They also threw some day hours in, when I usually only work nights, so totally messed up my schedule!
I weighed Annie yesterday and she was at 31 pounds. She is a tall beagle, right at the edge of acceptable heights, but she is usually around 25lbs. She really hasn't eaten anything out of the ordinary, and I am not sure if I should be concerned or not. She had her chicken thigh on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday she had a bowl of dog food (she didn't eat it) and she got one chicken gizard and one chicken heart each of those days, as well as two or three chicken strips (dog treats for healthy breath, skin, and eyes) she gets one about every other time she comes in from outside. None of these things have changed from before we bred her. Yet she looks "fat". I am concerned because I don't want her overweight as I know that makes the pregnancy and birthing harder on them. I also want to be sure she is getting enough of what she needs. I considered cutting back on the treats but don't really feel like she is getting to much there.
She also is acting completely different already. She has never been a big lover, she will come up for a pat but would rather play fetch then snuggle. The last four days I can get little done as she follows me around and as soon as I sit down she tries to climb in my lap. (shes a little big for a lap dog) I have ended up spending about an hour every night sitting on the floor with her laying on me petting her. She still will run and play outside with the big dogs. She runs so fast our Shepherd chow mix can't keep up with her, she just a little blur. Is it possible she already knows something is going on? I guess I keep thinking of people, and women don't usually even notice for a few weeks.
So to sum it up. She is eating less, but gaining weight, hard to get her to eat anything. She is very lovey and wants petted all the time unless she is outside.
I have four books coming in the mail at some point soon, then I won't have to keep harassing you all with all these questions.
I will add the picture and stomach measurement tomorrow, I hope.
