The beauty of wireless!

Almost everyone around here has wireless. We have what we call "flyers" that will drive around and seek out a wireless signal to fly on. Sometimes they go so far as to paint a symbol on the street to let other flyers know there is an available signal.

We have the Hughes Net, and yes, it is expensive to set up, but I love it. We are very rural. No cable, no DSL, nothing. We don't even have paved roads, lol.

We spent about $395 to have it installed and it's about $50 a month, but we were told they need approx. 25 more houses in the area to make it cost effective to come out our way with DSL.

Considering we own 13 acres, the guy across the road owns 10, our bordering neighbor is a farmer with 300 + acres, and the other neighbor has 180 + acres, I can't see it being cost effective EVER around here.

I wouldn't trade my house out in the middle of nowhere for anything, tho'
