Rhode Island Reds will lay 250-300 large brown eggs per year, and will be pretty good winter layers. I don't have experience with the Ancona (is that what you meant by"anacona"), but I've heard that they are great layers just like other Mediterranean breeds (Leghorns, etc.). Anconas lay large white eggs.
