Hi everyone. I'm really new to chicken raising and these two are definitely my favorites. I can't have any roosters where I live and I'm a little unsure of what Lucy & Ethel are. I'm hoping they're pullets and I'm just being paranoid because I'm already attached to them! The picture where they're together they were about 3 weeks old and the separate ones were taken today at roughly 4 weeks old.

Ethel is a Buff Orpington and Lucy is a Rhode Island Red.

Hi! In order to properly sex Ethel and Lucy we need a clear photo of each's comb.

Having said that, I think that Lucy is a Pullet.

This is our California White Jessie, He/she is almost 4 weeks old so I am not sure if it's old enough to tell yet but thought I'd give it a try! (I posted it in another thread before I saw this one. ) I am guessing pullet myself but could be a roo and surprise us!

Easter Egger. You can not buy true Ameraucana from feed stores. The few hatcheries that have them charge about $20 per chick. Basically, if no color/variety is specified at purchase, it's an Easter Egger.

Kind of has feathers down its legs. Would that change anything?

Probably Cochins. The chick in the middle has a fairly pink comb for a young chick, probably a boy. The Splash and the partridge look like pullets.

Thank you I was worried about the middle one, but the farm I bought them from insisted I was wrong and it was far too early to tell, he is also getting picked on by the other two.
