Raven started to crow about a week ago. Wren the welsummer is not crowing and plumage has not headed toward roosterish so I do believe she is a hen.

Others say Black Australorps Cocks are as well easily identified by having big heards and compared to hens even right from birth. How far true this is?

We picked up two hatchlings from a local chicken guy about a month ago. The gold one should be a Road Island red, the black one we have no idea. Blacklee has green feet that are starting to feather. And Goldie is twice the size, very ballsy and has a lot going on in the comb area. Thank you for any input about breed or sex!
