Good luck with them!

Ok, here come the Lavender Orpingtons.
I have 8 eggs. The 2 that are lav/lav have not pipped yet. (it's day 21)
The two that have hatched are from lav/black split eggs. They both appear to be lavender.
One is about 12 hours older than the other, hence the size difference.

No chance for blue, period. That pen has two lav roos, a lav hen and two black hens. One of the roos is darker... I have heard that blue will make lavender look darker... However, Dutch Chic that sold me the eggs told me her flock was all blacks split to lavender, hence, there could be no blues. I think it is black and when the flight feathers come in in a few days they will be black. I know it looks blue now, but I'm betting on black. (sorry to bear bad news) the lav chicks are DARLING and looks like another pair. One on the left a roo.
You take the BEST photos... T-H-E BEST!

Well, when the darker lav chick hatched I thought (when wet) she was black. But she is the 'darker lav' color. She is the one I wondered if that was blue.
Only 2 orps so far, you declare them both to be lav.

So this is good. I have 2 more lav chicks. They are either yellow or no tag, so from a black hen. One is also from a different roo (darker lav). I'm hoping the other 6 orp eggs show signs of life.

so glad you like the photos.

Ok, I still have 10 BCM eggs in, but it is day 22 and I think the hatch is done. The rest of the lav eggs were empty, as was the last barnie egg. Can't see in the BCMs so I'll give them another day.

18/29 BCMs (I think 6 black, 2 splash, the rest blue)
11/12 barnevelders
2/2 olive eggers
1/1 ameraucana
5/6 mottled java
2/9 lavender orpingtons

for a grand total of 39/57

and here are pics of the last 8 BCMs to hatch.

Thanks for sharing the hatch with me, and your own hatches!

Gotta love those little beards on the chicks

The barnevelders are pretty neat looking. You are going to have one pretty flock. You may not want to give up quite yet though, I have heard of chicks hatching till the 25th. I figure it can't hurt to give it a try, but I know my incubator on day 21 is starting to smell.

Here I don't see any more pips or activity in the incubator, but it is nice to have a dozen little babies. It was my first hatch ever, so I'm pretty happy! There are 8 White Silkies, 1 Buff Silkie, and 3 Brahma Crosses.
