My Toni-Marie Astin line started at 4 1/2 months. But I would strongly avoid hatching eggs until they are older. Resist the urge to start hatching pullet eggs as you want strong and healthy chicks. This line is very productive. Mine started December 23rd and have given me eggs every day since then with no signs of stopping. So there is no reason to rush.

Mine were around 6 months and I think the Svart Hona were around 5 to 5 1/2 month.

Hi all,
Read some of the thread, but got a bit long

Anyways just wanted to show my pair of fibromelanotic birds. I think a few member post about these so called "Hmong Chicken" before? The single comb variety are said to have been brought over by the Hmong as eggs snuck in their luggage during the 1970's, when they first were migrated to the USA after the Vietnam war area from South East Asia. There are also a variety that have more pea combish look more like oriental fowl does. Those are said to be mutt birds, that have been created by cross breeding? I read another post where it mentions, those oriental fowl looking fibromeanosis birds are called Lu.................? from Belgium.

Well anyway, so does that make these straight and single comb "Hmong Chicken" a type of land race chicken from SE Asia? Please, if anyone know more, I would like to hear what you have to say.

These are only about 3/4 grown, about 5-6 months? The male combs will get quite larger in size and one more thing, the hen are very broody, but very good layer as well. This pair's older sister was sitting on 25-30 eggs

So, a AC is always fibro melanistic where a Kedu has color and isn't. So are they one and the same breed? It would seem to me that they would be completely separate.
