D started on another directions sheet. She wrote in fine cursive on the pale white, blue lined, sheet of paper.

S slowed Blitz down near a hidden cave-like space created by the roots of nearby trees. S swung off Blitz and quickly scaled one of the trees. She knew Blitz would probably prefer to do some running or go looking for food so she didn't tie him up. She just sat there in v created by two branches and thought about going back to the plane to try to figure stuff out. Maybe this time she wouldn't freak out when they started asking her questions. She paid little attention to Blitz as he wandered off. S knew she should take him to stable soon so she could groom and feed him properly. She could only keep so much stuff in her backpack.

to add to the mystery, she walked inside.
asuna put hunter away, groomed him thoroughly, fed him, and headed inside.

Asuna followed dannon outside into the backyard. "surprise!" dannon said happily, and asuna looked out at the yard. in the middle lay two koolies.

"oh wow!" asuna gasped excitedly.
"they speckled one is Grey and the black one is Shade" dannon exlained. "they're both boys and both are fully trained."
asuna crouched down.
"they'll always come to you when you do this" she said, then let out a sharp, crisp, two-tone rising whistle. the dogs instantly came running.
they ran around asuna excitedly, sniffing and licking her.
"they may seem cute now, but given the opportunity, they can be vicious. they will guard you and your friends with their lives."
"do they know tricks?' asuna asked.
"they know just about every trick" dannon nodded. "try it."
asuna stood up. "sit!" she said firmly. the two dogs sat, watching her eyes, eagerly awaiting their next command.
asuna smiled happily.
"at ease" dannon said, and the dogs relaxed, laying down, letting their tongues loll out.

Kyra stuck her head in the cockpit, "About 10 copies." D walked in past her and sat in the other seat, "I'll just be inside the back of the plane." she announced, and started poking around the rear. She had always felt like a third wheel around those two. And of course, she was. She finally decided to just sit down in a chair and look out the window. It gave her some time to gather her thoughts.

Noah just kept writing the directions on the piece of paper, glancing at D every now and then. His handwriting was quite messy, as he had never really gone to school, he was just too busy staying alive, and keeping Kyra alive too. He had no time for school, or fun, or anything else, for that matter.
