Love the new breed index/breed finder! I noticed about the Black Star that the author said he/she had never heard of a Black Star/Black Sex-Link going broody. Well, as a commercial egglaying breed they're not supposed to, but my best setting hen is a black sex-link! She is three years old and hatched two clutches the past two years, and right now she's sitting on a clutch that's due to hatch this coming Tuesday. (Although I know not to count my chickens before they hatch!) She's also the easiest hen I've ever handled when it comes to moving her to a nest away from the rest of the flock (which you have to do, as other birds will lay in her nest or she'll get on the wrong nest), I can just pick her up and put her where I want her and it doesn't faze her.
Guess nobody told her she wasn't supposed to get broody!
