The brinsea eggs are hatching!
Here’s a recent pic of the snow angels, they will be four weeks on Saturday. I’m sad to say I think Popeye might be slowing down, he just seems droopy lately, I’m hoping he’ll be ok, but I mean his heads misshapen, his eye bulges out, and he’s blind, so I’ve been thinking he might not make it, but who knows, he’s surprised me so far:
Snowflake is in front, Baldi behind, and Popeye sleeping by the water. Baldi and snowflake can see so far, Baldi like normal, Snowflake not well, but he doesn’t walk into things like the other blind ones. I keep them out of direct light, they are small and feathering slowly, but otherwise act just like normal quail.
I always try to incubate double yolkers, this one made a go of it for a couple days but quit, I got a good pic of the 2 yolks before I threw it out:
