Momma has not left the nest that I know of since yesterday morning! Fingers crossed!!!
 
The second one hatched! Was not able to check 3rd egg for cracks or movement tho bc momma was getting water n having fit I was peaking in
 
Can one of you tell me if I should let my mallard hen keep her eggs? she was born this spring and has started laying eggs in their box. she doesn't sit on them at all but I read they wont until their clutch is complete.cold weather will be here by the time they hatch. should I just take the eggs?

Is she acting broody? Mine started hiding eggs under shavings so I wouldn't continue to collect them daily plus they sat on the nest some during the day at first. It would be up to you if you want her to hatch them or not. They may do fine in cold weather if momma keeps them warm and they have a nice shelter. But prob would be a good idea to have a back up plan to be able to bring them inside if she doesn't
