I finally got a chance to share the Broom of Doom story with our 5 yr old granddaughter.

DH printed it out so I could read it to her. She absolutely loved all the photos!

I was worried that some of the words would be hard for her, but she totally got the meaning of everything.

After I had read it slowly twice, I asked her to read me the story. She doesn't really read yet, but she easily picked out words like "the", "at", "chicken", "broom", and so on.

While she was 'reading' she remembered the details of the story pretty well, and all of the chicken names. I noticed that where there were no pictures she made up some of her own details.

When we were done she said "Grammu... read me that 'nother part about Mr. Hawk".
