The Bunny Chat Thread - For Bunny Owners

Oh okay, I didn't see that you were getting the older one. In that case Timothy or Orchard grass will work. Or oat hay. I like orchard grass the best since it's not as dusty and I'm allergic to Timothy hay.
Keep in mind the angora will need LOTS of grooming.
As for spay and neuter you could check with your local vet to see..
Tell your parents the cages are very expensive and keeping them outside is very unsafe for a pet rabbit. An angora mix will be really really hot too.

Maybe your parents will grow attached to the rabbit and let you keep him inside. Maybe you could keep him in something like this for now though View attachment 2309490

You could use the same thing to setup something like this

This is quite a large setup but since it's only one rabbit you could make it a lot smaller.
These are some really good ideas I like the first one for now i have 2 foldable cages and if i combine them they will be a little small than that pen

Any tips on litter training?
@EverythingDucks
Setup the litter box by lining it with either newspapers, a paper bag, or puppy pads (with the plastic lining trimed for safty). Then you'll want to fill it mostly with hay with some space in the back for him to do his business. In that space you can put just a handful of two of paper litter. This will soak it up and reduce any smell. The poop doesn't smell, it's just a dry ball of hay, bit the urine can stink so good litter will help. When they 'go' they will do it in one corner. This is where the litter box should go. If he poops outside of it just put it in the litter box. It may take a few day si be patient. He'll catch on quickly.

If you do bring him inside eventaully keep him in a playpen. Put the litter box in a corner. If you see him use it then that's a good sign. If he doesn't, then repeat the steps above. Then you can trust him when he free roams.

Yeah, change of environment can shock them a bit. And if they don't know where to go they'll gi everywhere since they dint have their usual spot. In my article I'm writing about how to transition so that doesn't happen. They also need close supervision. That's why playpens come in handy
He was shocked because he bit into an electric cord which caused him to lose control of his faculties... it just took me a while to find the cord had been chewed through... Probably the most important thing to keep rabbits away from are electric cords.

Oh and be sure it doesn't have a wire bottom. This is quite painful to them as they dont have paw pads like dogs and cats. They can get sore hocks which are not fun to deal with. I would use something like cardboard bit keep in mind he will probably chew that. You can put a tile on top of that too. It'll help keep him cool as well. Also some fleece or towels di dig in.

My rabbits are 100% free roam. GET THEM FIXED. An intact rabbit will mark territory! If you want quality rabbit care videos, Lennon the Bunny is a good channel on YouTube. I’ll link one right meow.
To whoever’s rabbit got an electrical shock, your space needs to be rabbit proof before you let your rabbit roam. Your rabbit could have died. I use cord covers on all my cords.

Thank you wonderful people for helping i learned alot from u guys i really appreciate it. I dont have any predators here except cats and strays. No foxes minks skunks badgers raccoons and no hawks. Im keeping him on terrace since cats and my lab cant get there.
Where are you located? Predators live in the shadows, you won’t see them, doesn’t mean they are not there.
