The Bunny Chat Thread - For Bunny Owners

The Kaytee rabbit cage is what I used for my first two buns until they were bonded. The cage worked fine but was difficult to clean and it was hard to get the bunny out. The best cage I have used so far is actually a puppy exercise pen. I use the three-foot tall one since Shadoe is a jumper. The bunnies would have lots of space to play and it is easy to move the pen and get the bunny out. For advice on rabbits, I recommend the Lennon the Bunny YouTube channel.
I can’t stand that YouTube channel just because of its views. Basically they believe that if the bunny can’t free roam in your house that you’re a bad bunny owner... that is such horrible thinking. They believe a bunny should never go outside because they’re a domestic pet 🙄 sorry just had to add my 2 cents... it’s great how she cares for her bunny, but I’d rather mine live outside where it’s living in its actual habitat. It gets grass and nature... bunnies don’t like to be confined to a house...

I know what you mean. My bunnies are outdoors and I don't watch some of the videos since they just make me feel guilty. I think rabbits should definitely be able to play outside, although I wish mine could live indoors just because of the predator/disease stress factor. Some of the videos, such as litter-training and feeding and nail clipping, are actually useful. I think when she first started the channel it was more for help with rabbits and now it is rabbit advocacy.

I litter trained mine. They’re inside right now but we are making them a huge rabbit house with a run.

so i looked up the age rabbits can be breed, it said that they are fertile at 8+ weeks but if they are breed at under 12 weeks they could hurt themselves or their kits. ours are in the same cage as of right now, should i separate them? they are 10 weeks old.

I don't think eight weeks is possible. However, they can be fertile starting at three months for smaller breeds. It is much better to wait until they are six months old. It is similar to humans. A fourteen-year-old girl can have a baby, but it can result in health complications for her and her child. You should probably separate the babies soon, since even if they are not yet fertile, the boys will start bothering the girls. This can result in issues.
