The Bunny Chat Thread - For Bunny Owners

Are english spots all supposed to have the butterfly nose pattern? It definitely has the rexy velvet type fur maybe a mix of those two or something.
Yes, thats why I think its mixed. Its the chain of spots right in the spine that have me thinking English Spot. There are many different breeds and Im definitely no expert 😉

Thought some of you might get a chuckle out of my recent enrichment “fail”. I was helping my parents rip out a bunch of ancient overgrown rose bushes from their yard. Knowing that rabbits love nibbling on rose bushes, I saved a bunch of fresh clippings. Gave her a whole box of them to forage from. She loved them!.....and left thorny little remnants all. over. the house. Only thing worse than stepping on legos in bare feet, is stepping on rose branches!

I thought about doing that, but worried about the thorns. Do you have an outdoor play area for her? She can nibble there to her cute little hearts delight 🥰🐰🌹

No, I want to get something rigged up this summer but haven’t had time yet 😕

For now I compromised by giving her a few days to finish stripping leaves off most of the branches, then took all the rose branches away and refilled the box with mulberry twigs. Much easier on my poor toes.

Welp this was a bit of a surprise, she was a little heavy for a reason. We’ve literally had her about a week and today she went all crazy about building a nest. I gave her a bit of extra hay and she went to town, pulled some fur then ended up having 6 kits. I had no idea she was pregnant. This is going to be interesting.

Went out and checked on them this morning 6 kits. Their bellies seem full so it looks like they’re going alright. This is just the box I used to check them over. Mom has them in a nice warm nest.View attachment 2636063
Go get her some whole oats if you can. They help with lactation. Also, I suggest posting them for $20 or so online instead of free - charging makes people be more serious. And I would post sooner rather than later. Depending on your area, it can be rather difficult to re-home mixes.

They are adorable!!!!
Congrats!
