OK, assuming if i do manage to release it without starting a war with my siblings where is the ideal place to relocate it?

Real talk, mom is probably gestating her next litter already and is just tolerating the babies being in her territory because they are young. She's NOT caring for them any more.

Somewhere with a mix of trees, shrubs and open grassland away from houses and farms. Maybe a park. Rabbits don't live much in deep forests, but sometimes use the undergrowth and trees for shelter and burrow locations. Bonus points for a nearby water source.

If you release it into another rabbits territory it will move to find its own. That's what it would have to do if you left it at home too. Mom would probably drive it away and attack it as it got older - she'll have a new litter to feed and won't have time for her old one.

I won't lie - the reality is rabbits are R strategists. They make lots of babies in hopes that a few will live. The ones that make it are the best of the best. This rabbit will have to work to earn its territory and suppers just like every other wild rabbit.

Good luck! That bunny deserves a chance to survive and live its life in the wild! If you need to, try to get an expert involved by calling a wildlife rehabber or your state department of natural resources on speaker phone and see what they have to say.

It's also worth noting -welfare concerns aside- it may very well be illegal to try to keep it. >_> It is where I live.

so my siblings agreed to release it, but my younger brother is convinced that if i release it at the end of our neighborhood it will die. he tried to let it go in our front yard but i stopped him just in time . besides that everyone has been compliant and this little fella will be released soon .
