The Bunny Chat Thread - For Bunny Owners

https://rabbitcagesuk.co.uk/can-rabbits-eat-haylage/ I found this website that says you can feed Haylage to rabbits but not to depend on it as the rabbits only source of food. If its all you have feed the rabbit haylage.

For those who do not know haylage is grass cut younger than hay is cut and instead of being dried its deprived of oxygen to prevent molds and other things growing on it.

Can haylage be used or I have to continue looking?
We buy hay for our bunnies online at a place called small pet select. Unsure if that is available to you, but it is another online site which I can say sells great, high quality hay.

I hope you can find a place to get some!

My bunnies need their hay... I do the same as you @Compost King and forage plus I love drying veggies, herbs, fruits, and flowers for them in the dehydrator.

Snow the albino loves dried nectarine pieces! She practically dances for them.

I gave one of my rabbits one of my BOKCHOY (have to type it that way to get past autocorrect) sprouts when I was thinning them out and she was not interested in it, so far they only like fresh grass, hay, pellets and Plantains. The first 2 I bought liked blackberry leaves but I got rid of those (wild thorny nuisance plant with very few tiny sour bitter fruits) I need to learn what veggies I can give them, maybe tonight I look that up.

I have had rabbits in the past and they ate so many other things I would forage for them but the ones I have now are all picky. Maybe when they get older they will like a wider variety of things.

What’s haylage? They do love hay, but it’s not life threatening if they don’t get any. Just make sure you get good quality feed and also give it veggies you would eat. Just not much cabbage or similar as they can’t pass gas.
Thanks for looking up haylage CompostKing! I don’t see why they can’t eat it. Ask the current owner what they feed and where they get it.

Whew! Busy day! 17 pint jars of tomato sauce... Nine bouncy, fed babies! :)

I asked the owner he feeds him grass from his garden and small crushed grains of wheat corn and barley.
