Because of Win-Dixie was the book my daughter was reading to me
when she decided she was too big to sit in my lap and read.

After a while I put the book away in a little glass cabinet. Her little
page maker still in it.

Guess I'll never know how the story ends.

Before you know it, your granddaughter will be reading to you; maybe she'll tell you how it ends.

I had the good fortune to have access to my mother's copy of The Annotated Shakespeare when I first became acquainted with the Bard. One advantage reading has over a stage play - footnotes. They may interrupt the flow, but they can shed light on so much that has gotten obscure over the years. Then, when you see it presented, it makes more sense (and you can laugh at the "in" jokes).

Some good read-alouds for the family are Cheaper by the Dozen, Belles on their Toes, and Room for one More. They can make even the most rambunctious kid sit down and listen.
Oh, my goodness! I forgot to mention them! Cheaper by the Dozen is such an entertaining book for the family.

I'll have to read Cheaper by the dozen some time. I've seen both the original and the remake movie, and they were very entertaining.
I've never seen the remake, do you know when it was made? The first movie of Cheaper by the dozen and Bells on their toes were great.

I think 2003 or 4. It was much different then the original, and not as good, in my opinion. I haven't read or seen Belles on their toes but I've heard it's good too.
Gottcha, I don't enjoy now a day movies half as much as in the 1940s-1960s. But back to books

, have you ever read Agatha Christie's murder mysteries? I was just listening to the crooked house for the first time and it was so good!

No, I haven't read any of Agatha Christies books yet. Have you read any of her other books? Are they all good?
Honestly, my sister has read all of them and she either tells them to me, listen them with her, or steal the book afterwards

. My favorite Agatha Christie book is Five Little Pigs, I'm not really sure why its my favorite though. Some other good ones are: The Orient Express, And then there were none (also known as Ten Little Indians) The Murder of Roger Ackroyed, Sad Cypress, The Mysterious Affairs at Styles, and The Secret Adversary. Those are just of few of the many books she wrote.
