The Cat Is Caughing

I know this is a chicken forum but I don't trust anyone else. We have a young rescue cat and he's been kicking butt. He's our first cat. Takes care of the mice and poops outside he's awesome.
Last few days he's been caughing. I googled a few things which is always a bad idea and my best diagnosis is kennel caugh but who knows. Any suggestions? He had shots at the shelter when we got him 6 months ago does he need more?

Could just be a hairball in his Is throat.

I would recommend a visit to the vet.
Could be a respiratory issue, could be a cardiac issue.
Also, cats can get sick from catching and/or eating mice.
It would be best to have it checked out.
