Cool! It wasn't bad here today.

So I've been practicing making a mourning dove call with my hands, because mourning doves are one of my favorite birds. Today, when I was outside, I heard a mourning dove and I called to it...I ended up with three doves perched in a tree looking at me funny.

It was great!

Yayy!! The creek flooded! No forest fires this summer for us! (The creek is down a steep hill from our house, and it flooding only means a lot of mud on an area in a side road--and fewer forest fires!)

FINALLY! I figured out how to make a saddle for my hens THAT DOESN'T FALL OFF! I think I've tried five different types and all sorts of fabrics/fasteners.

I did, but I got rid of him because he was over mating the hens. I want to cover them so the others don't peck at them. Plus two particular chickens have WARS over who is going to use what nest box so that doesn't help.
