I usually hen hatch my eggs however some are laying now in winter but they are not going broody looking for info on incubator or home made ice chest incubator

When the light bulb comes on and off in a homemade incubator does it click ?

Does the 16 doller one include shipping cuase I found one on one of our sponsers sights for 21 but thats with free shipping. Ivwant to do an experment between the chic bator and a box with a light and see.what hatches better I just don't see how the little thing can work at all.

Could work fine. I just hatched silkie eggs in a old cooler with a 25 wat bulb and a little dish of water. Nothing fancy at all, no fan no thermostat. All three eggs hatched on day 21.

If i use a 60 watt bulb is that too much

Depends on the size. I spent a week getting the temp and humidity correct. I also did a dry hatch. 30% humidity the first 18 days. Then 60% during lockdown. It did take alot of work to keep the temp stable, but moving a towel around worked well for that.

My temp is going from 97 to 100 stead no lore no less is this good and ready for eggs ??

Is it still air? I had better luck at 99-101... try adding one or two baby food jars of warm water. Have the water at about 100.

It has a fan and i have yet to add something to retain heat like a water jar or rocks ill try the baby food jars
