Yes, It is a lot of labor. I'm a plasterer by trade and expected it to be quite easy knowing all the materials and how to manipulate them. I worked early morning until late at night for two weeks straight to get it finished. Lots and lots of labor. Their insulating value varies with the thickness of the wall. In a house you build two walls with a space in between for loose fill insulation. Our walls are only five and a half inches thick, for a house it's at least 24" thick. Our coop stays plenty warm with a heat lamp on for the two or three weeks a year when we are below freezing. I started a coop page in My BYC Pages with some good info.
