A few days ago my father came home and told me that his friend couldn't keep a few chickens so he would give them to us for free. My dream finally came true once we build a chicken coop from an old deer blind, some palates, and some plywood. The next day we brought home two hens and a rooster. One of the hens was like a big sister to the other and she was laying. The rooster always stayed close to the younger hen and followed her everywhere!
Here are some pictures:

The dark brown Rhode Island Red hen is Breakfast. The buff laced rooster is Sonny. And the light brown hen is Suzie.

Breakfast is trying to lay an egg!

Sonny and Suzie are always together. If you take Suzie away from Sonny, he'll start calling for her and begins to look for her.

I think Suzie found a scorpion, one of her favorite treats!

The roost, made from a few thick braches
