Somebody Please put the net over Russel tongue and free the chicken!!!
yes!!!
I said the next mean little compensating rooster who is destined for the stewpot we get is going to be named RUSSEL.
OMG!!!LOL!!!!
He is good entertainment value though for sure!!
And thank you rancher Hicks!!!!
As for the chickens, I think your probably right about them being awful easy to catch, I chased my rooster, Tuna, around the yard the last time he flew the coop for a half an hour, I was winded! He went back in via the DOOR later when I went in to give his ladies some treats!!! Bugger!
Anyway, so let me get this strait, I am looking for Game Hen/Silkie/Rose Comb/Jungle fowl mutts? No problem....
I know!!!I'll just get one of each and grow my own!!!!!
I thought I would add, there is a pic of a silver laced wyandott with a comb like the one they were chasing, and an australorp on yet another post looks like the one Russell caught. They are awful pretty, bet one of those would work.
Those chickens are waaay to friendly to be feral chickens. We have feral chickens in my yard and we can't catch them with 10 people working together, so it seems like they put them on the island to me.
I LOVE Survivor, and I LOVE Russel! Haha - he is the best mastermind I've ever seen on Survivor.
But, I have no idea what kind of chickens those were. (I did, however, wonder the same thing - and I wondered how the heck they caught them so quickly!!!)
I saw four totally different type of tame crossbreds ; the video of the pet hen turned chicken soup had a crest , the " caught " roo obviously had some gamebird in him . I'm thinking you could order some EEs or just hit some auctions or swap meets and get a mixed colored flock of crossed chickens that you will all be able to enjoy for their diversity .
Yeah that is what we are going to do, we went to feathersite per someones suggestion here and they have many pictures of beautiful mixed breed chickens, many that resemble
the ones my daughter liked. I dont think there are many options for finding those types of crossbreeds up here, we're in a very rural area. On the descriptions it gave the parents
of some of them so we went with those breeds. D picked out EE's and when she saw the Silkies...it was all over! I really like the game hens, and then the Bantams with their
dark beaks and beautifully patterned feathers. I really like the rose combs too. I am going to look and try to find some locally, but I think we may have to order them. I think I am
