Here are the girls: Lucy and Ethel, Buffy and (yet to be named). I promised John his son could name one of the chicks, so until this weekend the last of the four has no official name. They're about 3 weeks old at this point; when can I start giving them treats, and what kind of treats would they like?

looks like some nice EEs and Brs huh?! SWEET~!

be sure to take pics of em as they grow up

Two EE's and two BRs.

Fun.

Can't wait to hatch some of my own

Lucy and Ethel are barred rocks . . . Buffy and the other are "ameraucanas". All are supposed to be the same age, but the EE's are larger than the rocks - are they supposed to be? Anyway they're all really cute. Lucy is of course a trouble-maker - she's always the one on top of the feeder.

My EEs are the same age as my BRs and they are just a bit bigger. They are about 11 weeks old now. I love the BRs when they make their honking sounds!! Just wait. It comes as they start getting older.

Is cheese ok for them? Does it mean I have to give them grit too?
I've also read about cottage cheese - are they old enough for that?
Any other suggestions would be much appreciated - I know how bored I would be with nothing but chick mash so I can't help but feel like some variety is in order. When can they start having greens and veggies? I'm so used to having adult birds (canary, finches, parrot) that I feel a little out of my depth with baby birds. I think that as of today they're about 3 weeks old (give or take).
Thanks for all the advice!!

go to top of page and do a search of feeding chickens and that will tell you all the thing they can eat, real good info on there. oh nice looking chicks
