We live in Minnesota and plan on bringing water out every morning and possibly at night if it gets really cold. It's going to be inconvenient to do that, but worth the effort knowing we won't have to worry about a fire. The soffits are open for ventilation and we also put in 2 vents on two sides of the coop. We have the windows for ventilation also.

Fire is scary for sure. You can always put a bowl of snow in coop for if waterers freeze, worked good here when I had a broody isolated away from heated waterer.

Wow, I never would have thought of using snow! Thankyou for the tip, we will definitely do that! This picture shows the vents we put on 2 sides of the coop, and we also have the windows for venting.

Not gonna be enough....and windows will likely be close in winter?
Open your soffits and/or open large venting in coop wall under run roof.

My wife and I love your design, so we've started building our own according to your plans. I have a couple quick questions about the build, as the plans are just a bit confusing. For the run roof, did you build yours 8ft wide, or 6ft as the plans require? On your pictures, it looks like the run is 8ft and has 3 cross beams, while the plan only has 2 and is 6ft wide.

If we build it according to plan, will the run be as wide as the coop? Thanks for the clarification.
