is a little ol' place where, were can get together. Cluck Shack baaaabyyyyy.

Hi there! I'm new to having backyard chickens and got my pullets July 1st. One already started laying a couple weeks ago. I have three.
The early layer - Nervous Nellie - Sapphire Splash
Problem child - Ruby Tewes - Rhode Island Red
The sky one - Emma Stone - Calico Princess

I've always wanted chickens because I thought it would be interesting and fun, and they have way surpassed my expectations on that. Ruby has already had vent gleet and gotten a couple spa days, and now she has an injured break. I'll post about that separately.

I play volleyball, sing, and do landscape photography as other hobbies. I have a dog and two cats along with the chickens.

I look forward to learning from folks here, and thanks in advance for your help!

Congrats on already getting those first eggs! And, if sounds as if you are getting some quick lessons on the maladies that can affect chickens. I hope all is going better with Ruby.

I like your chickens' names and the breeds. One of my original hens was a Rhode Island Red, (Ginger Rogers because she liked to "dance") and I have a couple of the CP's and two Sapphire Splashes in my current flock -- all very pleasant birds.

Welcome to BYC, Kirsten and the Cluck Shack girls!
