Maxwell is a beautiful young rooster! Congratulations.

I just set my first collection of eggs from the breed pens...20 days to go.
How many eggs did you set?

I have (I believe) 3 Columbian Wyandotte eggs in my incubator right now. All 3 seem to be doing well thankfully. Twix's eggs- I lost Twix last week unexpectedly.

Sorry to hear about Twix. She was a pretty girl. Hopefully you will get some pullets from her eggs.

I set 67 eggs. Some I had collected during our snow storm so I’ll know more in 7 days when I candle the eggs. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I got 2 pullets from her the last hatch I did. They are Casanova's sisters (Baby Ruth and Daisy)

I've got to get some pictures of this year's hatch. Unfortunately, one of the roosters carries an "invisible" single comb gene (I should figure out the technical term, lol), considering the fact out of 10 chicks, 3 had single combs. I got 4 cockerels (one with a single comb, who has since been sold) and 6 pulleys (2 with single combs, I will keep them for egg laying and just not use them for breeding).

Hey there, Columbian Wyandotte enthusiast here.

I'm considering starting a breeding flock of these....(again) this following spring. I've made a couple attempts to start one the last couple years by buying starter birds from breeders - I haven't been successful for a few reasons but I think I'm going to give it another go this spring.

I do still have a few of these birds and just love their coloring. There's only one maybe two hens that I would use for breeding. I'll try and get some photos of her tonight to see what other peoples opinions or her are.
