Unfortunately two incompatible truths exist:
#1 half of all eggs that hatch are males
And
#2 a healthy flock (and most chicken owners) don’t need a flock that is 50% roosters

When I have too many roosters first I list them for money on Craigslist. After a while I list them for free on Craigslist. After a while of no takers then I quickly and humanly kill the unwanted roosters.
I don’t like to do it but I am not responsible for creating these two incompatible truths about chickens and I feel I’m being a good steward by providing a wonderful life for my chickens and attempting to rehome unwanted chickens and in the end a humane death when needed.
