This is a FABULOUS coop, by the way. I'm checking out the auto supply store for some trays...love the idea!!

I built those staggered to give them a bit of privacy without building a partition. I made the framework from 1/8" angle iron and set the boxes inside. They are removable and also have a removable bottoms for cleaning.

Thanks for the compliment.

Hey BG huddy I live off of Mt.Pleasant Rd. and not far from the new fair grounds ,there are several folks on BYC that live around here.

That's great to hear! We have struggled through these chickens without any local help so maybe we can lean on you for support when we need help? My wife is on here periodically trying to locate info and posting for assistance and this site has been a godsend.

My DH is an auto tech and uses a plasma cutter at work. He agreed that you are a jedi master. I LOVE the signage. Very impressive. Your coop is lovely, too. Had to giggle at the columns. Presidential chooks...

WOW! Great planning and detail!
Question - Where did you purchase the stainless steel hanging water bucket and does it come with a lid/cover? Our local feed supply has galvanized and PVC but no stainless for poultry.

put shaving down first on the poop trays...then the poop will sort of clump-if you will. No need for the oil spray. Don't worry some poop is good!

Capt. Crusoe ,

Thanks. The water bucket is actually the feed bucket. It looks like it's stainless but it is galvanized. The waterer I used is an automatic style with a float. It's also small so it can be refreshed often.
