We are just waiting for the weather to warm up just a little bit before we move their brooder out. The winds were bitterly cold today and we haven't insulated yet.

The coop is the leanto on the left. DH still has some work to do, like building the nesting boxes, roosts, ramp and yard. We were considering a metal roof, but ended up with asphalt shingles, because we got a really good deal on them because they were being discontinued. We are going to eventually stain it all to looked like the weathered wood.

My DS#2 is checking out the door.

Nesting boxes will go next to the door, roosts on the opposite wall.

love the rustic looking coop.i know your chicks will love their new home.

Your right! Looks sortof like mine... very nice. Yours looks a little more sophisticated than mine though. Mine's all just scraps and recycled stuff nailed together.

Thanks everybody! I'll pass the compliments on to DH. We want it to be rustic in hopes that it will blend in. Once he has rested, he plans to add a woodshed the same size as the coop on to the other side.
