ok so its not much yet but got most of the frost gone had to put some charcoal in 2 of the holes and lite it up so I could finish digging but the holes are done. Now to take the coop apart in the barn and reassemble out side when I get them cemented in.

Progress is progress! Trust me mine will take a while, since it is raining I can't get cement down... Once we can get the cement slab we should be able to finish up the coop in a day, it is waiting for weather.

nice start and with frozen ground too!
keep us posted on the progress. We only laid out the base so far, so you are further than we are!

This has taken way to long. But made some real good progress, Coop is almost done. Roof is done, windows are in siding is on and mostly painted. Need to get the door frame and door up then put in the pop door and window trim.

I was thinking about putting the pop door to the right of the red saw box and the nesting boxes along the left side wall. I was also thinking about putting the roosts under that window next to the pop door any comments if that will work or better ideas..... thanks

The pop door will be fine there, are you building a run? You have gone through this much work at this point if you put the roost in front of the windows consider building a poop board under it, it will keep your coop 10x cleaner and easy to make.

I'm thinking about making a roost similar to this. If I put a 1/4-1/2 sheet of plywood under the roosts about a foot down would that work or do I need to do something else. I might have some left over linoleum or tile I can cover it with.

This is how I did mine basically a box with edges all the way around, fill with sweet pdz and sift with a cat litter scoop, I recently had to make it wider I guess my girls are some real power pushers, amazing how much they poop at night.

Thanks for the help everyone. Got them in the coop and so far all is well. I still have to put in the roosts and poop board but looks like they are good so far.

Will post some more pictures as soon as the never ending rain passes.
