The Coop Project - finished

urb2165,

If you are asking me:

That plastic paneling works GREAT. NOTHING sticks to it.

I put several inches of bedding down and just let it go. After a few weeks I just scrape it all out with a big scoop shovel and add more bedding and leave it.

I do not disinfect the coop between (or while) cleaning. I have not had the need to because (so far) nothing has been sick. BUT, if I did end up with a problem I think that plastic flooring will help prevent it from spreading....because things just don’t stick to it, and it will be easy to spray and wipe down....no crooks or crannies to worry about!

Looks great. You might want to think about adding a poop board (with sweet PDZ) instead of shoveling out the coop during cleanings. You will save a lot of waste in the long run and the coop will smell very fresh come summer time.

Looks great, the only thing is it doesnt look like there will be enough ventilation. Ive heard you need one square foot per bird but I dont know how many you keep in there.

Thanks for the suggestion UrbanBYC. I do have a window in one side that we will be using as ventilation if needed as well. The "door" is always open as well. What I like about that building is the ability to cut more ventilation as needed.
