Glad to hear this! I have wondered how folks affected by Ike were doing after the storm regarding their animals. I heard a REALLY sad story on NPR yesterday afternoon about the shelters so over run with lost and abandoned animals.

Our hunting dogs weathered the storm in our barn. My Aussies I locked in a steel livestock trailer (which made a steel cage around them) and we put some rims/tires in there with them in case they needed even more shelter or something to climb up on. Two of my Aussies spent the storm inside the house with me running home every now and then to check on them - and let them potty in the eye of the storm.

I was so nervous for our livestock all during the storm. By 10 pm, I was ready to be done with the hurricane. Unfortunately, Ike wasn't quite ready to give up the goat until the following morning.
