I live in Southern California, about mins outside of Los Angeles, and am wondering how much I should sell my eggs for. I've been giving them away to friends who have wanted to start paying me but I have absolutely no idea how much to ask for them.

There are several farmers markets in the area that tote all organic produce and make a load of money, but none sell fresh eggs.

Any thoughts?

Not in CA, but the egg price here for farm fresh eggs is mostly 2.50 per dozen. It sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Thats what I was thinking! I'm know Trader Joes here sells organic eggs for 3.00. I'm not really looking to make a profit, but having the cost of feed covered would be nice!

I'm on the outskirts of Seattle
I see them offered for $4-$5 a dozen around here, either from homes or organic in the stores. In the past I've seen them posted for up to $7 a dozen, here on BYC. All areas are a bit different. You could check out craigslist etc for what they sell for in your area.

Good luck,
Imp

If there are no eggs offered so that you can compare prices, that means you have the market all to yourself,

Don't short change yourself., Those eggs are expensive to grow if you consider all the costs and not just what the birds ate that day.

I live in the mountains in so Cal and our little grocery store sells organic eggs for $6 per dozen. I sell mine for $4 and people snatch them up.
