First and foremost here is why people don’t watch anime:
  • People base their knowledge of anime off of what other people think of it. The same is true for everything. People follow each other and imitate each other. Just ask Jean Piaget, imitation is in human nature. A better way to explain is would be that people are “Jumping on the Bandwagon”. And right now, the bandwagon says that anime sucks. Too bad the bandwagon knows nothing about Anime, therefore, all of their comments are nothing more than baseless assumptions.

Most anime fans has this false perception of Japan view of anime. As anime fans, we must understand the truth what the Japanese mainstream view of anime. This is list of myths that anime fans failed to recogonize.

Common Misconceptions Regarding Anime and Manga
It is a known fact of anime otaku that anime and manga are often misunderstood. Ask your average anime otaku what his feelings are and he’ll say "The average person does not understand anime". Angry fanatics may say all anime is "evil". Ignorant people may say all anime is "perverse". But these misconceptions come from people who are not fans of anime themselves.

I understand you want to defend this subject and prove a point (Which, by the way, is both true and false. Ecchi anime are out there just as there are family friendly anime [I can site sources from both]), but at this point, if you're resulting to name calling, just... Back away. Both you and Tani have some excellent points here. No need to egg her on, especially with your description of Suika.
