Once there was a bad thing,
The bad thing was called Greed.
Greed made people want things
They really didn’t need.

Then said Sustainability,
“Your lifestyle is to stay?
If you’d considered me you’d see
It cannot be this way.”

The people looked around to see
Their world gone up in flames;
They tried to reach a compromise
But all they found was blame.

Sustenance was the first to say,
“It’s not that simple – see.
Some people take just what they can
Because of poverty.”

The Other Side then argued back,
“It’s also not our fault.
Consumption growth; without it
Our economy would halt.”

Then the people knew for sure,
They never would be freed
While power was the Other Side’s…
The Other Side was Greed.
