Crow stepped into a clearing with a huge, many-branched tree in the center. “This is the tree!” Crow exclaimed. “We used to live farther in the forest, but after the fire we had to relocate. The Tree is close to the edge of the human-nests, but it’s still a safe distance away.”

“Wow” Anita gazed up at the spiralling branches that shot out from the tree “it’s amazing.” She saw a couple of crows on one of the branches “do you know them?”

No! We're not leaving you to die! Alana thought stubbornly, though she was beginning to lose hope.
Ashling struggled to her feet and began to sing louder. And louder. And louder. Until the entire building began to shake. Rebecca stared at Ashling with terror and covered her ears. Alana yelled at Ashling, "I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS POSSIBLE TO SING SO LOUDLY!" But she couldn't even hear her own voice.

The noise was still barely a whisper to Rose. Maybe the soundproofing we did to this room was worth it. It did feel like there was an earthquake, which Rose wasn’t too happy about. She just made her powers stronger in an attempt to stop the noise.

Ashling couldn't sing anymore. She fell to her knees, staring at the ground and gasping for breath. "I-It's impossible." She whispered hoarsely. "They must have done something to that room." She fell all the way to the ground and let out a tortured scream. "Make it stop!" She shrieked.
"Make what stop?" Alana asked kneeling down next to her friend.
