Alana frowned. "Poison? That doesn't sound good at all. But why are you all living here?" The little girl was full of questions

"We just all happened to meet here and we're just... here.... i guess." Clover said.

"But didn't they used to have homes? Did you get abandoned as I did from my parents? Is that why you all are here?"

"well... my home...." Clover said, "never mind, One of them... melani, i think, her family was killed and she came with us... Ashling lived there." Clover waved her hand at the rock. "Who knows where the rest of them lived. and the one that fell off the face of the earth... never mind him."

Alana's eyes widened. "Killed? Does the big bad wolf live here?"

"no. Her family was killed by hunters, apparently. Who's the big bad wolf anyways?" Clover said.

"Killed by hunters? Why would hunters be killing people? They kill things like deer," Alana said. "The Big Bad Wolf is from a fairy tale my grandmother used to tell me. About a girl called Little Red Riding Hood or something. The girl went to the forest to help her grandma, who was sick, and then the wolf gobbled them both up. At least, that's what my grandmother told me."

"But we can use our magic to help them!" Alana said, confused. "Is that why my parents left me to die in the forest?"

"According to them we have to be killed because we could hurt them." Clover said bitterly, memories of her parents flicking into her mind before she pushed them roughly away. "and yes, that's why your parents left you to die in the forest."
